The Köln Concert (Keith Jarrett, 1975) is one of the most amazing pieces of music ever captured. And it is all incredible improvisation! Jarrett took nothing into consideration before he sat down at his piano. He created this entire recording with absolutely no preconceptions of what to play. He walked across the stage, sat down, and began playing one of the greatest live records of all time. Sure, it's not easy listening. You'll probably have to listen to it 3 or 4 times, before you actually realize it's beauty. Jarrett offers up over 70 minutes of passion and beauty.
